Celebrating Independence Day at Coolie Camp with Rupantaran

We are thrilled to share the joyous occasion of Independence Day celebrations that took place at Coolie Camp under the auspices of Rupantaran. The event was a resounding success, bringing together the children of the camp in a spirit of patriotism and unity.

Under the guidance of dedicated volunteers from Rupantaran, the children showcased a remarkable gala, filled with heartfelt performances and meaningful presentations. The festivities commenced with a rendition of our National Anthem, a moment that resonated deeply with everyone present.

A symbolic dance recital titled “Ganesh Vandana” followed, choreographed by an ingenious student from Coolie Camp itself. This dance not only displayed their artistic talents but also depicted the essence of reverence and unity. One of the most touching segments of the event was a recitation of the iconic couplets from the Diary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The young orator’s eloquence and passion left a lasting impact on all attendees, underscoring the sacrifices and determination of our freedom fighters.

The highlight of the program was the thought-provoking act named “Beti Padhao Beti Bachao” which shed light on the critical issue of gender-based discrimination and female feticide. The children, aged between 5 to 10 years, skillfully conveyed the importance of valuing and empowering our girls, through a deeply moving performance that stirred the hearts of all those in attendance.

The event was further enriched by soulful renditions of “Vande Mataram” which echoed the sentiments of love and devotion for our motherland. Following these remarkable performances, prizes were distributed to acknowledge the talents and efforts displayed by the young participants.

A truly special moment unfolded as the Indian flag was hoisted by the oldest resident of the cluster, a 92-year-old individual who had lived through the times of our freedom struggle. His anecdotes and memories shared with the children were met with rapt attention and profound respect, providing a firsthand account of the nation’s historic journey towards independence.

The central aim of this event was to instill a deep sense of love and reverence for our country in the hearts of these young minds. It was heartening to witness their eagerness to learn about our nation’s struggle for freedom, proving that the spirit of patriotism is alive and well in the younger generation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers, organizers, and all those who contributed to making this celebration a memorable success. Let us continue to nurture the seeds of patriotism and unity within our community, ensuring a brighter future for our beloved nation.
